WHO WE ARE

The CK Fund was founded by Kacey Hirshfeld and Chris Clayton to provide support to youth in Northern Virginia. Kacey grew up in Reston, Virginia attending Hunters Woods Elementary, Langston Hughes Middle School, and South Lakes High School while Chris grew up in Falls Church, Virginia, attending Bailey's Elementary, Glasgow Middle School, and Justice High School.

Kacey played youth soccer in the Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL) throughout her childhood and through high school and played field hockey all four years at South Lakes. Kacey also co-founded the Reston Youth Triathlon in 2011, as a freshman in high school, to raise money for the Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation. This annual event has raised over $150,000 to date and she and the other co-founders received the Vade Bolton-Amy Rodriguez Best of Reston Award in 2016. Kacey attended the College of Charleston, graduating in 2018, and now works for COMPASS Scientific Communication.

Chris grew up playing baseball for Mason District Little League and Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League (NVTBL) until his freshman year at Justice High School. After high school, Chris attended the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida before receiving the chance to play Division-1 baseball at the College of Charleston where he and Kacey met. After two years at the College of Charleston, Chris transferred to Chipola College where he won the 2017 Division-1 Junior College National Championship before transferring to Louisiana Tech University for his last two years of college. Chris now works for WorldStrides International as a paralegal.

In 2019 Chris and Kacey moved back to Falls Church, Virginia to start the next phase of their lives in the place they grew up.

WHAT WE DO

Chris and Kacey are thankful for the wonderful childhood memories and opportunities that were created in their hometowns. Now they want to give back to the communities that raised them and help youth in Northern Virginia grow and make their own great memories. The CK Fund is focused on providing new opportunities, funding and programs to help young people and their families in the areas of school, sports and security. The CK Fund prioritizes being able to provide help to people and areas of the community that are in the most need. Through various fundraisers and youth programs The CK Fund targets specific needs in the community and rapidly addresses community issues as they arise through a General Fund. The CK Fund is dedicated to helping young people in Northern Virginia through the mantra, "little by little, a little becomes a lot".
